Busted is a detective game published by Fumei. This page describes exactly what the app collects, what it does not, and how to exercise your rights. It is written to be read, not skimmed.
In short
Busted has no user account. You provide no email address, no password, no phone number. The first name you type at the start of a game stays on your device and is never transmitted. No advertising, no ad trackers, no IDFA, no sharing with data brokers.
What Busted does not do
The phones you search inside the game are entirely fictional and bundled with the app. Busted reads no data from your device: not your messages, not your photos, not your contacts, not your location, not your calendar. The app connects to no third-party account and needs no connection to be played.
What Busted collects
| Data | Why | Processor |
|---|---|---|
| An anonymous install identifier, generated at random on the device | To link events from one installation together and measure progress | PostHog |
| Gameplay events: case opened, question solved or missed, hint requested, purchase | To learn which question players get stuck on and whether a case is worth writing | PostHog |
| App language, device type, app and iOS version | To diagnose problems specific to a version or a model | PostHog |
| Crash reports: error message and technical stack trace | To fix crashes | PostHog |
| Subscription state and anonymous purchase identifier | To restore your subscription on a new device and verify your access | RevenueCat and Apple |
None of this is tied to an identity. We do not know who you are, and we have no way of finding out from what we receive.
The camera
The app contains a simulated camera, part of the fictional phone. If you open it, iOS will ask for camera permission: it is used solely to display the viewfinder on screen. Images are neither kept after the app closes nor transmitted to anyone. You may decline the permission; the rest of the game works normally.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. RevenueCat acts as a processor to verify your subscription and let you restore it. Management and cancellation happen in your App Store account settings.
Processors
PostHog Inc. — usage measurement and error tracking, data hosted in the United States under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
RevenueCat Inc. — subscription management, same safeguards.
Apple Inc. — distribution and payment, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Retention
Gameplay events are kept for twelve months and then deleted automatically. Subscription data is kept while the subscription is active, then for as long as accounting obligations require.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Because we do not identify you, exercising those rights goes through the install identifier shown at the bottom of the app's Réglages du jeu screen: send it to us and we will delete the corresponding data.
You can also simply delete the app: everything stored locally, including your first name and your progress, goes with it.
For any request: contact@bustedcase.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Children
Busted deals with adult subject matter and is rated 17+. The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be published on this page with a new update date. Substantial changes will be signalled inside the app.
